Matthew Robertson - Lead Analyst and Bespoke Services

Matthew Robertson holds a degree from the University of Reading in Urban Property Markets and Valuations (Land Management) and is currently working toward a RICS APC qualification in Management Consultancy.  At IPD Occupiers Matthew is our lead analysis and is responsible for our UK subscription and bespoke analysis reporting.  Matthew is a natural innovator and has developed our existing ‘Performance at Lease Event’ analysis, a tool designed to help any occupier with a number of leasehold interests analyse rental uplifts at review or renewal.

When asked about the most interesting aspects of working with corporate occupiers, Matt said, “Working with a number of corporate real estate teams to create our extensive databank of live property information gives me a real overview of the current market, and the ability to provide them with credible, evidence based analysis on their properties.  What keeps working with corporate occupiers interesting is the real range of analysis required and available to them; from lease event analysis to value for money assessments. It will be very interesting to see how the CRE industry emerges from the challenging economic climate, where occupiers will need to control costs intelligently and provide their organizations with productive workplaces.”

Nishel Sewpersad is a Client Relationship Manager who maintains a portfolio of utility, media and consultancy sector clients in the United Kingdom.   In addition Nishel works on our bespoke benchmarking projects and assist in the data collection, analysis and over all coordination of our Facility Manager Benchmarking Seminars.

Nishel feels that one of the biggest challenges facing corporate occupiers is the alignment of a firm’s real estate strategy with the corporate strategy.  Nishel states that, “Where CRE/FM strategies previously focused primarily on cost and space efficiencies, modern day real estate teams are under pressure to tailor their strategies to simultaneously improve efficiency and effectiveness while taking into account organisational culture, work practices, CSR and employee productivity levels.  Occupiers Scorecard Analysis and FM Seminars provide a platform for occupiers to understand and measure both the efficiency and effectiveness of their portfolios, thereby providing a credible position from which to align corporate strategy to CRE/FM strategy.”
