Paul Carder- International Director
Paul Carder is a Chartered Surveyor with 14 years experience in the property and corporate occupier markets. As International Director for IPD Occupiers he launched our Global 500 programme which brings together multi-national corporate occupiers and facility managers in order to share occupancy data and establish best practices for global benchmarking.
As a member of the British Institute of Facility Management, Paul is a regular conference speaker and has published many journal articles relating to corporate real estate. Paul is particularly interested in the contribution of property and facilities services to the effective performance of the 'core business'. He commented, “Cost will always be an important factor, but workplace and environmental performance measurement is a growing issue for global occupiers, and the measurement of ‘workplace productivity’ is gaining consensus. Increasingly managers need to be able to produce a balanced picture of real estate portfolio performance against all these factors.” Paul sees IPD Occupiers' independent analyses as the ideal tool to help occupiers successfully meet these measurement challenges.

David believes that reporting corporate real estate performance requires an independent and a robust approach; “Property occupiers and managers face the double challenge of meeting the diverse performance requirements of their businesses and presenting their performance in a suitable context equipped with, in many cases, inadequate information. IPD Occupiers provides the independence, experience and trusted approach to developing and optimising appropriate information to meet these needs.”

IPD Occupiers can help by independently assessing their levels of spend and space use compared to the largest database of occupiers costs in the UK. Most importantly, costs we collect and compare against are actual costs paid by the organisation at building level. Costs quoted from service providers are often a completely different story.’
